MAAP Announces Leadership Transition
Dear MAAP Community and Stakeholders,
I am writing to inform you that, after much consideration, I have made the difficult decision to begin transitioning out of my role as MAAP’s Regional Director. I have the opportunity to complete several documentary films I am producing and directing, and to further my education as a filmmaker.
I have been with MAAP since December 2022 as our first and only staff member. During this time, I have had the privilege of connecting and collaborating with many of you. Much of my energy in this role has been devoted to outreach and advocacy, and my sincere hope and intention is to continue nurturing the relationships and initiatives we’ve cultivated together in new contexts.
I cannot properly express my gratitude to MAAP’s exceptional Board of Directors, who have consistently supported my professional, personal, and creative growth. While it is challenging to leave this role, as a media artist within the region, I will continue to be part of the MAAP and Pacific Regional Media Arts community.
MAAP will begin the recruitment process to fill the Regional Director position by June 2026. I will welcome and work alongside the new staff member throughout the summer to support their transition into the role, and will conclude my position in August 2026. If you know of anyone who may be interested, please consider sharing the job posting with them.
Thank you for the trust, generosity, and collaboration you have shared with me during my time at MAAP. It has been an honour to support this community and its vital work, and I look forward to continuing our connections and shared commitments in the future.
Sincerely,
Jessica Miinguuaqtii
